Gemma and Nick’s wedding was probably one of our most technically challenging to date, but somehow also the most relaxed. The challenges were the fact that the ceremony was taking place at 3pm, in the middle of winter, giving us some interesting lighting, but also the fact that it rained for most of the day.
However, despite the bridal car breaking down on its way to the beautiful Lanhydrock Church, everything on the day seemed to run perfectly smoothly, and on time. Gemma and Nick were very relaxed (on the outside at least) and great fun to work with. Their wedding had a vintage feel running throughout it, topped off with an amazing juke box at the reception. (I WANT ONE OF THOSE!)
The preparations and reception were held at the Trehellas House Hotel, in Washaway. The ‘Courtroom Suite’ was absolutely stunning, and gave us some great opportunities for some photo’s. Aimiee stayed up there with the girls, while I went downstairs with the guys, getting the serious shots…
Not usually on our ‘must take’ list, but Nick tells us that everybody will now be asking us for the ‘Wedding Pants’ shot!
The guys posing outside for a dramatic group shot…
Some of Aimiee’s shots with the girls…
Once at the church, the rain persisted, meaning we finally got to use our umbrellas we have been carrying for the last 18 months! (cue Morcambe & Wise)

Nick and his best man Andy, who will be appearing on this blog in the summer!
Lanhydrock church was absolutely beautiful, as was the service given by the very entertaining Father Graham.
After the ceremony we snuck into Lanhydrock House for some shots around the Christmas Tree and open fire. We also tried an experiment with a Bauball while we were there. The jury is still out, but let us know what you think!
The umbrella theme continued once we were back outside, until we got back to Trehellis, and got some shots up in the Courtroom Suite.
Soon Gemma, Nick and their guests started the party to see them all into the new year…
A great way to end what was a great year for us. We are really looking forward to showing Gemma and Nick all of their photo’s from the day, and are also planning on creating a new demo album using some of their pics.
Happy New Year everyone!
=)
